Mr. Dodd’s Lament

We offer an orginial poem, with an orginail thought.
Mr. Dodd’s Lament
By Sherman Lackey

Oh here is to Mr. Dodd, A legislative man.
On his involvement in a governmental plan.
To take over a company with a great to,
But instead the created a great hullabaloo!

Chorus
They had plans to seize the company,
But they wanted to keep the plan a governmental secret.
Oh what should they do?
Good old Mr. Dodd created a nice big loophole!

Investors became quite nervous, don’t you see.
They were afraid of loosing all of their hard earned money.
Mr. Dodd was asked by the treasury secretary.
To sweeten the pot, so the plot go the governments way.

Chorus
They had plans to seize the company,
But they wanted to keep the plan a governmental secret.
Oh what should they do?
Good old Mr. Dodd created a nice big loophole!

Poor old Mr. Dodd did as her was asked.
Gobs of money to the private company were passed.
With government ownership all most at ninety percent.
People started wondering where the money went.

Chorus
They had plans to seize the company,
But they wanted to keep the plan a governmental secret.
Oh what should they do?
Good old Mr. Dodd created a nice big loophole!

The money, as it turns out.
Went to bonuses and Mr. Dodd began to shout.
Give the money back and don’t be lax.
Or we will confiscate it with a special payroll tax.

Chorus
They had plans to seize the company,
But they wanted to keep the plan a governmental secret.
Oh what should they do?
Good old Mr. Dodd created a nice big loophole!
