How does an airplane fly ? Good question and look what we found, the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, on line yet. Where is this thing you ask, well it is here http://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/handbook/.
Be aware that it is in PDF form so you will need a program that reads PDF documents. But all of the flying questions are answered in this book.
