Why Iowa Does Not Matter

In the presidential race Iowa really does not matter because the front-runner was determined as soon as HRC settled in New York and became a senator. In fact for the past eight years the DNC has been abiding their time in order to run HRC as president of the US of A.

What all the brew haha is a bout is finding a running mate that can be groomed for the next election after this one. So the focus here is less on who will the DNC run for president, that is pre-determined to be HRC, and more on who will be best for the second position.

That is how we see it.

The Peace Of Islam

The next time someone you know, or do not know, says how “peaceful” Islam is remind them of the assignation of Bhutto. A woman, unarmed, not a threat to anyone in particular gunned down proving what we have known all along. Islam is more likely to kill non-combatants, women and children than in killing solders of any military machine.

Weather it is the twin towers of 9-11, bombings in Oklahoma, or bombings against a countries consulate the number of women and children out numbers solders they have killed on the battle fields.

So tell me again how begin the religion of Islam is, this slayer of the innocent, the butcher of the masses.

That is our opinion, which the Second Amendment says we can have.

Santa And The DHS

Again this year Santa has teamed with the NSA to find out who is naughty and who is nice, though there is also a new wrinkle. It seems that the Department Of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration have also forced offers of assistance.

They want to know who is receiving what, how much, the prices paid, the selections that were not filled and all personal; data from Santa’s Christmas list.

In an corporation exchange Santa has given his secrets of how he manages to:

  • Go into houses that have no chimneys.
  • Land both his reindeer and his slay on pitched roofs.
  • Cover the entire globe in a single night, including the International Date Line.
  • Pack all of the gifts for everyone in a single bag without setting the level of gravity in the sleigh off.
Additional secrets involving the other elves will remain secret for now however all of YOUR personal information has been given up already.

Here is to Christmas paranoia!

What The President Knew Before 911

Thi is the Presidents day Brief that was given prior to the murders 911 attracts on US soil. As yo9u recall the 011 commission said that having this brief should have alerted everyone on staff about the "eminent" attacks.

Ms. Rice deferred and brought up a member of the panel short about it. so you read and decide. We think that once again this is a case of the Democrats and Her Royal Crankiness in particular sling mud to cover their overt acts of treacheries.

When A Trend Is Not Globeal

One of the local TV stations found valid local weather data that goes back 150 years here, Portland Oregon. And the results are a bit confusing in the light of the hysteria of the globe getting warmer.

So from 1857 to present the amount of snowfall has been less each year, on average, which means that while there have been spikes. As in 1958, the trend is for less snowfall here each year. Something that is being missed by the "green, live in filth" crowed. You know the ones that urge us all to live in the refuse of others so we can all feel good about living in and amongst trash.

There are some things to note though:
1. The ice in the center of Greenland is getting taller
2. The ice in Antarctica is getting taller
3. The ice on the largest volcano in Africa is melting form the sun directly.
4. The ice on Mt. Hood is melting from underneath (the mountain is getting hotter).
5. In the last 20 years there are 40 new volcano's either on land or in the ocean.
6. There are more active volcanoes now than in the previous 500 years.

So it appears that the lessening of snowfall in this area, at least, is a trend and a trend that humans did not create.

So how do we tell me Gore that the trophy is nice and the award looks good on the wall but he got it all wrong?

That's our take.

California Burning

The Sana Anna hills have caught fire again, like they do every year, and they have cremated houses, like they do every year, and the fire is as large as New York, sounds like the fire of 1956. Sad fact is the Sana Anna hills catch fire all of the time so who is at fault with this mess.

Land use planning because land use planners saw no reason, like fire, not to build there, This is what happens when someone from California gets a good idea, laws are passed, actions taken, people lose everything. So the land use planners should have to pay the bill because they allowed a use that shouldn't have been and now we all have to pay money to "fix".

How about this, let’s set some land use planners afire and then the fun will really begin!

That's how we see it.

Another Round

After reading a book and doing some research on the great war, also known as WWI, my master offers the following original poem.

Another Round
A Reflection On The Great War 1914-1918 AD
A soft rain fell
As we walked into hell
On that cold November morning.

Where machine gun bullets and artillery blasts
Tore the flesh from our bones
Men by the score died without warning.

The wounded lay where they fell
For how long no one could tell
Some died of their wounds in a ditch.

Night came at last
A welcomed end to the blast
To the enemy positions the dead pointed the way.

They died bravely they say
They died every day
In four years the dead numbered nine million.

Wars are fought over tin
The love of a woman
Philosophy and resources.

We will do this again
It's as common as wind
So shall we begin another?

Sherman Lackey

That sums up our thoughts.

Stickem Up Portland!

One of the powers that be wants to add a street charge to the Portland Oregon city sewer bill to the tune of 4.75 per month plus a 3 cent a gallon fuel tax for cars and trucks. Tri Met busses and city vehicles are naturally exempt from this as are government buildings.

So let’s look at this because in ten years they want to “raise” 352 million bucks for the repair of major streets, street lights and a few bridges. This doesn’t apply to state and county roads that are in the city and means that 35 million 200 thousand dollars will be diverted from local businesses and local persons to government.

The city already gets money from the state and property tax for streets, though they don’t say exactly how they spend it, they say they need more. The real message here is that Portland misuses its money, hats businesses and loathes single families, but single rich yuppies are okdokie.

The powers that be don’t want businesses to give their workers raises, or bonuses, or pay a living wage, which is why they like illegal aliens which pay this sort of thing without questioning.

We predict that with such a outlay by an oppressive government business will leave Portland Oregon, small family run shops first, forcing the workforce to seek employment outside of Portland . As people cutback their driving the money stream will drop which in turn will cause a drop in the revenue that Portland receives.

It is not enough for elected officials to say that they need more money without explaining just why the department head of the transportation department makes 10 grand more than the median wage of the Portland Population. If wages for city workers are not greater than the median wage (average as opposed to the rich) then the money to fix the infrastructure will be there without a raise in taxes or the creation of new taxes.

Course they could just sell bonds or take the money out of the general fund but that would be the smart thing to do wouldn’t it?

That’s how we see it.

How Do We Know What We Know As Applied To Politices

Based on the Rumsfeld dialog with the press on the known, unknown, unknown knowns and known unknowns. We offer the following in an attempt to understand the epistemology of it all.
How do we know what is and what is not, that is how do we know that we know what it is that we know. If we know only what we think we know then is what we know actual or are we not knowing and filling in the blanks for what we think we know but what we know isn’t what we really know at all?

Fiction is based on what we might know if we knew what it is that we know but what if we don’t know what it is that we know but instead know things that we don’t know? How do we then tell fact apart form fiction? Don’t bother asking the senator from New York that is running for the office of president as they clearly have issues with what is known and instead aspire to the unknown weather or not it is known or not.

Perhaps we know what it is that we know by separating the known into two different pieces, the phenomenal (things we can’t see or test but believe anyway) and the noumena (that which we can see and test). This is different than inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning that rest on a foundation which is self evident and can be a landmine for political candidates which is why they tend to avoid it.

In this way we have things we can explain and things we can sort of explain. Then as we are able to test for more and test these things we can then know more as opposed to knowing less.

Then normal people have no issues with not knowing the known and they explain the unknown by ideas like prayer and miracles where as political canidates only know what is known and have no explanation of what they don’t know. Members of the press that are aware of the restriction of what the known unknown’s then baffle the candidate with the unknown known because of the phenomenal/noumena separation.

So how can we then know that the noumena even exist? Good question for another time, just remember not to ask the candidate to answer a question containing an unknown known or a known unknown as they will wax eloquent about anything and everything else and not answer the question. Why you ask, because they only know the known and are completely unaware of the phenomenal.

That’s how we see it.

Portland Oregon - A cess Pool by Another Name

We offer this, http://www.portlandtribune.com/news/story.php?story_id=118522686140313400, as proof that he elected officials in the city of Portland Oregon are both non responsive and uncaring about Federal law and the community in which they serve.

By defying the United States Constitution and the laws under it they become complacent in aiding criminals and criminal activity.
Portland Oregon is becoming a cesspool of human failures led by the, in our opinion, the incompetent.

Portland Oregon Just Loves Criminals

Last month Federal Impregnation authorities arrested over one hundred illegal persons working and living in Portland Oregon. The mayor made a statement or two. What we infer from those comments is that in Portland Oregon it is considered ok to break into a person’s home, rob them, plunder them, steal from them and even murder them.
In fact the mayor of the city made it clear that he thinks that Federal laws are a bunch of nonsense. We presume he also means the United States Constitution and the Oregon Constitution as well.
So all criminals in the world now know that Portland Oregon is a safe heaven for all of you.

Lovely!

Oregon State Leading Bio Fuels Myth

There is a myth that the State of Oregon is on the leading edge of Alternative Fuels (AF) production and sales. The fact is that currently there is only a single Biodiesel production plant in the sate, one under construction and two Ethanol production plants. While there are less than 50 places to purchase both.

We contend that if Oregon really were on the leading edge then we would have 20 production plants and 200 places to purchase the stuff.

What we do have is a lot of otherwise, until they were elected, bright legislature types that are the next best thing to a dead boat anchor. See our research below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Biodiesel Production Plants Under Construction or Expansion http://www.nbb.org/buyingbiodiesel/producers_marketers/ProducersMap-Construction.pdf

There are no, zero, none, zilch BQ-9000 Accredited Producers in Oregon state at his time.

Biodiesel Production: 105 Plants producing biodisel now with new Construction 77 and Expansion 8. Oregon's total is two, one of each.

Ethanol Production: are listed here http://www.ethanolrfa.org/industry/locations/ Notice Oregon only currently produces 108 million gallons a year. However are only three service stations in Oregon to purchase it at. http://afdcmap2.nrel.gov/locator/FindNearResult.asp
While there are 40 stations to purchase Biodiesel from.
Far less that the states that are actually on the leading edge, like Illinois or Minnesota, or Texas for instance. http://afdcmap2.nrel.gov/locator/FindNearResult.asp.

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:" NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;-- for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish Constitutions of government for our sasety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;-- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;-- and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;-- to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

It Must Be Friday If You Can Sing This Song

If you can sing this song it must be friday

Words and Music By Mike Cross

Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth

They marveled for a moment, then one said we must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend, before we move along
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show

Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled towards a tree
Behind a bush, he lift his kilt and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize

And That is how we see it.

Misunderstanding, or Just Plain Ignorant?

In the light of the speaker of the House gallivanting around the globe undermining the U.S. State Department, we are wondering if they have missed the point of a speech that was given on September 13, 2001 by the current sitting president.

"We will not only deal with those who dare attack America, we will deal with those who harbor them and feed them and house them.” This explains how we got into Iraq to begin with and why we will not negotiate with Syria or Iran. Full text of the speech can be found here, http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20010915-4.html

It appears that the speaker of the house is interfering with the executive branch, something they have accused the executive branch of doing to the legislative branch. Odd thing when one is so stuck on ones self that the obvious is missed.

In a year or two the way that television signals are sent will change, read more here http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2007/03/13/MNGRHOK7S01.DTL. Question is, do we all really need to receive digital idiot box signals?

Here is my masters plan, when the analog thing quits he uses the TV for movies via the VCR and CD player. Also he can use a PlayStation or an Nintendo or some such. News can be received over the Internet, five minutes to get the same tired old stuff that broadcasters now take an hour to push out.

No advertisers gunk or other time wasters. Might even take up book reading all the while wondering just why it is we have people starving in the cold when congress sets aside 900 million plus for a singe entertainment system?

That's how we see it.

Sun Responsible for Global Warming

Yes there is doubt about the human contribution, if any, to global warming. Now we have scientific proof and I'll just bet that Al "inconvenient" will dispute it. It wouldn't be in the interest of the DNC, left of center, or other "haters of Democracy" to insist on truth.

Seven Thousand Square Feet of Non Livability

Want to make your town or city totally unlivable with lots of congestion and crime? Then take a page out of the book of Portland Oregon and set the density to seven thousand square feet. With a 4 foot set back on the back and side of lots and a 10 foot foot set back on the front. Allow for two story home and three story apartments and demand back filling.

Works so well that Portland has, on average so far in 2007, a murder a week, a mugging every other day and roads that are all but impassable four hours of every day. So kill your town, become upscale and up and coming!

Be a Portland! I dare ya.

Decomratic Congress 100 Hours plus on

Now that the first 100 hours has come and gone for the democratic controlled congress just what can we expect for the next 2 years?

Well, higher inflation, more unemployment, higher taxes, and not very much in the way of intelligence. How do we know this?

Because this is what we get every time we have a democratic controlled congress, every time.

That is how we see it. Remember what ever you were going to do in January, better get it done soon the month is all but over.

Higher Gas Coming To A Pump Near You, Soon

The House of the US congress today voted to go after "big oil" and their "profits". They are seeking to reclaim "missed" royalties due to poorly written oil lease agreement for domestic oil. This happened during the last part of the last democratic Presidential term.

What this means for all of us is higher gas prices at the pump because as we all know taxes and lost incentives are passed along to the consumer

Hail Ten dollar a gallon milk!

Thought they promised to do better things instead of the same old rob an pillage which they have been doing since 1933.

Exit Strategy’s For US Wars

Since congress continues to demand an exit strategy for Iraq we decided to list the exit strategies for all of the wars the United States Of America has been involved in, well the ones we know.

American Revolution – no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Various wars with the Native American’s east of the Mississippi river – no exit strategy – strategy = win.
War of 1812 - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Various wars with Native Americans in the south east - no exit strategy – strategy = win
War with Mexico - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Various wars with Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
1859 War with Great Briton known as the “Pig War” no exit strategy – strategy = win (arbitrated by the Keiser 1872).
War Between The States ending 1864 - no exit strategy – strategy = win (first war in which rebuilding was done but the idea didn’t happen until after the declared end of the war.).
Various wars with Native Americans - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Spanish American War 1888 - no exit strategy – strategy = win (rebuilding was done after the war ended).
WWI 1917-1918 no exit strategy – strategy = win (no rebuilding contemplated).
Various police actions in Asia and Latin America - no exit strategy – strategy = win (includes the Boxer Rebellion).
WWII 1941-1945 no exit strategy – strategy = win (Marshall Plan was done in the last days of the war but it is a rebuilding plan).
Korean War - no exit strategy – strategy = win (technically the war still goes on).
Bay of Pigs - no exit strategy – strategy = win (we abandoned the Cuban troops that were trying to regain control of their country form Castro).
Viet Nam War - no exit strategy – strategy = win (we just walked away and turned a blind eye to the 2.4 million people that the North Viet Nam government murdered).
Various police actions ion Latin America - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Grenada - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
First Gulf War - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Afghanistan War - no exit strategy – strategy = win.
Second Gulf War - no exit strategy – strategy = win (Congress demands an exit plan which would make this the very first war to have on).

So it would appear that there isn’t a history of exit plans in the wars we have been involved in. If we produce one then the terrorists win.

That’s how we see it.

The High Cost of Conservation

The lesson this week is this: Conservation AKA using less is very costly. So much so that the lower income brackets, thirty thousand and less before taxes a year house hold income are the lessor income ones, are unable to afford the cost. And do not even think about conservation. What so they conserve exactly, and what if something breaks.
Low flush toilets cost around a hundred bucks, which takes three or so months to come up with. Do they go in the years, next door, a bucket that they dump down the storm drain at night, what?

Many comminutes have nice little laws that force conservation. Less lawn watering, native low use shrubs, drip irrigation, a stepped water use table so if a threshold is breached one must sell his kidney and or child to pay the bill and no "you can’t do payments, we will just send this to collection".

In some communities they "allow" a replacement with like for like. For instance if the house came with a hot water heater that holds 40 gallons they you can replace with the same 40 gallon hot water heater. No fee if you do it but if a plumber does it then town hall wants 20 bucks, the plumber wants three hundred and the tank costs two hundred and ninety optional delivery costs sixty bucks. Total cost if a plumber does it runs around four hundred nineteen bucks depending on costs.

However if you want to install one of those "on demand tankless" hot water heaters then town hall gets eighty bucks at least. Inquiring at city hall will get you different answers depending on the person that you call, at least in Portland Oregon. And in Portland Oregon there is no way to guarantee those once you are placed on hold you will ever connect with anyone. Let’s just say don’t use a cell phone. Your town may be different.

Seems to me that if the various forms of government in this country were actually interested in saving the salmon, saving the trees, saving the planet for pet’s sake. Then tankless hot water heaters, low gas mileage cars, solar cells, low flush toilets etc. Would be free for everyone rich to poor and back again.

That’s how I see it.

Democratic Brain Trust For President

So here is a thing to think about. The next presidential race in the good old USA is going to have the very top brains from the Democratic Party running for office.

  • One candidate said on at least two Fox News Sunday programs that she was not, repeat not, interested in running for president – ever.
  • One is doing a “chicken little” thing about global warming. No folks I really don’t care if the sea rises just pick up and move like our ancestors did when the sea rose in times past.
  • One is claiming to be a veteran of foreign wars and oh dear, he mean mouths the men and women that protect him, his money and his way of opulent life.

Everyone sounds like a wiener to me.

Yard Sales That Aren’t

My master was walking to work the other day and saw a sign that read “YARD SALE”. Now just what does this mean? The English language can be very confusing.

  • Is the yard for sale?
  • Is something for sale by the yard, for instance a yard of string?
  • What sort of yard is for sale?
  • Is the yard sale a place in which things are being sold?

Perhaps we should have a sign ordnance that uses the truth in advertising laws to indicate that the alleged yard sale is actually a sale taking place in a yard and the things for sale are broken, used, or unwanted.

OK you soon to be elected official persons. Law crafting time, and don’t just say “Tax it!”

That’s how we see it today.

Election Season is Upon us, Feel The Joy!

Oh goodie it is election season again and November can’t come fast enough. When perusing the voter pamphlet notice how many candidates are using the elected office as their next step in promoting or sheltering their process that began in a different appointed office or unelected capacity.

Take note of the rhetoric, the ideas, and especially the promises to change things that 1. require a vote of the people, or 2, that they have no power to do ( like restrict the National Guard to their state).

Also pay real close attention to things like tax measures that the proponents swear up and down will never, NEVER be more that a certain percentage. Cause they lie. When Washington State passed their sales tax the people were promised that the rate would never go beyond 3 percent. Some locations are now paying almost 10 percent, liars one and all.

Don’t know who to vote for? Know of an truly honest person that isn’t affiliated with government but they are smarter than the average Congressional page? Write them in on the ballot. Better to vote for a honest person (man or woman) than a crook.

This brings me to the last thing here about candidates for office. Honest people tend not to run for office, because they are to busy making a living and dealing with the wrong headed actions of the elected few. Who really don’t care about honest people, if they did we wouldn’t be killing the unborn, paying payroll taxes and substances that kill – like cigarettes - would be forbidden.
That’s how I see it.

Ileagel Immigration The Whole Issue in Pperspective.

This was sent to us and we think it needs posting, just to keep things in focus.

Cheap Labor? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage, Consumers don't want expensive produce, Government will tell you that Americans don't want the jobs. But the bottom line is cheap labor.

The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor."Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who sneaks in here with his wife and five children. He takes a job for five or six dollars an hour. On that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year if he files income tax he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent, he qualifies for food stamps. He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.

Outsourcing as Applied to Illegal Aliens

While reading an article about the federal government apprehending some illegal aliens back east I was given an idea. It seems that a chicken processing plant employed about a hundred people that were in this country illegally. So they rounded them up and sent them home.
One of the reasons that employers hire such people is that they work long hours for little money. While depriving the American citizen and the legal alien because they can’t live on such small wages.

How about we do this them. Drum roll please. How about we outsource the production of poultry to a foreign country like say. . . oh India. I think it should work this way. American farmers still raise the chicken. At harvest time these chickens are taken in cages to the airport where they are put on a large airplane built by Boeing. Air pressure and ventilation can be maintained so that the cluckers arrive in India alive and well. A chicken processing plant kills, plucks, processes and packs the birds in boxes. Placed on pallets and returned to the airport the same large airplane returns to America with the final ready to buy deceased chicken. No need to freeze them in India as when the airplane reaches proper altitude, say fourty thousand feet, simply depressurize the main part of the airplane. Flash frozen bride chunks result. Saves energy, saves time.

Now people form other countries don’t get to work for low wages and a reduction in the number of people wanting to break the law is the result.

We like it – Go animal plant outsourcing!Look at this thing! http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?aircraftsearch=Boeing%20747-4J6%2FLCF&distinct_entry=true

Easer To Kill in a Group

Let’s take a moment to pause and consider land use planning as a matter of aiding and abetting terrorism. As we all know every square inch of America has undergone land use planning beginning in the 1960’s. Businesses go here, houses go there, manufacturing goes a way over that away. There have been drawbacks.
But, on the premise, that the earth is overpopulated we offer this. Crowding people together assists in shrinking urban sprawl and adds an element of profound military planning. With the move away from atom bombs there is a problem of scale. Bombs of the regular sort cost money and so do bullets.

So in crowding people together we find that it is easer to blast a whole bunch of personas, and cheaper, due to the density. After all housing was all spread out, say 1 per acre, and then an “A” bomb would be needed.

However if we can bunch people up then a single airplane with two bunker busting bombs can take out an entire neighborhood all at a single drop. Don’t like those people over there, they are conservative, just take em all out at once.

Think of the savings 3 guys, one bomb, single Airplane, and Instant park. Well after grading and a little litter pick up. Yes sir, it certainly looks like land use planning is a matter for Homeland security (http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/). Think about it.

All Sea Food Must Die - Part III

Here is a link to the latest thing I can find about the Oregon coast dead zone. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/08/060812155855.htm Of particular note is the presumption that no other cause could contribute to this. So they aren't looking at changes in the temperatures of the sea floor or the gases other than oxygen. Happy reading

Rethinking Cell Phones And Driving

Good old California is at it again. They want to ban talking on a cell phones and driving at the same time. The goal is in reducing accidents. Noble enough I suppose but in my opinion we need to rethink this.

Assuming that Darwin got it right, we should allow the practice of driving and talking on cell phones to continue. Why, you ask, would we want to do that? The answer Is simple enough, weed out the gene pool!.

Yes we are proposing that we use cell phones while driving to become rid of the idiots amongst us that can not drive and chew gum, or talk on cell phones, at the Same time. In this manor we will have smarter people driving, smarter voters voting, and (hopefully) smarter candidates running for elected office.

Another side effect of this would be encouraging the economy because all of those traffic tow trucks , embalmers, casket makers etc. Will have renewed business. Well, for a time anyhow.
Oregon uses a cousin to the cell phone while driving, rain. First rain of the season usually clears the gene pool a bit. While this seams a bit harsh just what do you call a person that crams on the breaks while tailgating the car in front at excessive speed. Cause smart it ain't.

So let the cell phone gene pool Liquidatorion begin!

Where Does The Comma Go?

I had a conversation with a friend about the English language and some of the things it does, or doesn't do. We both came to the conclusion that English is a germanic language with other language influences and easy it isn't.

For instance, take the comma. Just where does it go? In this sentence: "The quick brown fox jumped over the dead rotten log". We see no comma and the meaning is clear so now we insert a comma.
The, quick brown fox jumped over the dead rotten log. OR The quick, brown fox jumped over the dead rotten log. And then again The quick brown fox, jumped over the dead rotten log.
The meaning of the sentence seems to change with each insertion. But why stop with just one comma?

The, quick brown, fox jumped, over the dead, rotten log. Additional reading s can be achieved by placing the comma's in other places.

So we propose that congress abolish the comma or find a different substitute. This should bring that body of legislator's to a complete halt for some years to come.

As always that is how we see it.

A Day In Infamy - September 11, 2001

We pause as we remember the valiant, the announcing of that terrible day. A day when with malice of forethought and with no regard for human life. Pathological murders assaulted persons and family's that did them no harm, no harm at all.

While we remember the fallen we pay no respects to the perpertrators of this heinous crime. The have forgone all reasonable expectation of respect. Killing innoncent persons is just wrong.

Criminals need no remembrance, indeed while their deeds and the ones that they murdered are rememberd they, the very lowest of the low, deserve To be forgotten.

Happy Labor day, more so to those in the grocery business you have my condolences. Put your feet up, take another sip of cold cola. Know this though, the boss couldn't do your job or you would be working at something else.

All Sea Food Must Fry - Part II

Someone pointed me to this http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/06/us/06coast.html?ex=1312516800&en=e33d3103893381e1&ei=5088&partner which gives a more complete explanation of why the dead zone is there. There is not an explanation as to why the currents don't seem to carry this along though.

Airport Security Without Profiling

With this being the last posting of the month we thought we would tackle the morass of airport security. So in accordance with the “slaying sacred cows” ideas we have we offer the following. We are sure that we need to apologize to someone for this so we offer apologies to whom ever we offend.

Homeland Security, A Poem

Homeland Security is improving airplane security
By limiting carryon luggage and the things you can bring, implemented in the fall.
This includes the clothes you wear
In fact no luggage or clothes, allowed for anyone at all.

An airplane has blown up
In the skyOh no, oh NO!
Here they come out of the blue,
Naked bodies all over, what shall we do?
Here they come again.

No carryon luggage would mean fewer employees to do the screen
With a walk through fluoroscope nothing indeed is hidden,
No way for a passenger to get by with things unseen
So the passengers are truly, truly clean.

An airplane has blown up
In the sky.
Oh no, oh NO!
Naked bodies in the trees naked bodies on the ground,
There are naked bodies all around.
Here they come again.

Naked bodies falling out of they sky like rain
Blow up an airplane and naked bodies cover the landscape.
While this may sound awful and really terrible
Naked bodies are totally biodegradable.

An airplane has blown up
In the sky.
Oh no, oh NO!
Naked bodies that passed security are in my pool,
Now just who do I call and what do I do.
Here they come again.

We must be able to tell the good from the bad
So this is the idea that we have had.
To prove that passengers have passed the test
They must have “Homeland security” printed on their back and on their chest.

An airplane has blown up
In the sky.
Oh no, oh NO!
Here they come falling our of the blue,
Whatever are we to do.
Here they come again.

We showed our poem to Father Jean Mortuadu over at the Baptist, St. Bart The Divine, Holy Sacred Cow Ecumenical Catholic church. He had very little to say which we reprint here, hopefully we have interpreted this correctly. He was sampling the communion wine and he is Irish after all. We Quote” Holy mother of saints Agnes, John, and Barthoremu. What ya trien ta do? Get arrested?”

No just point out a real cheap way of securing passengers without profiling anyone while maintaining the constitutional ideas that all of us are treated alike.

That’s how I see it.

All Sea Life Must Fry

A “dead” zone is off the Oregon coast and the “zone” is an area of ocean that has no oxygen. So things needing oxygen die. Well now that is kindda interesting. So why is this? scientists are trying to figure it out. But we have some questions.

1.What is the temperature of the sea floor in the center of the dead zone for the entire length of it? That is as relation to the “live” zone, which is outside of the dead zone? 2. Why doesn’t the current move the water and in doing so aerate the stuff which wouild enrich the water with oxygen?

If the water that makes up the Pacific Ocean actually moves than the plankton that is slurping up said oxygen ought to move. In addition the conditions that make the plankton thrive and grow ought to be looked into.

Once we comprehend why this happens then we can better determine what the fix may be. Of course this could be an issue where the floor of the sea is becoming warmer to the molten hot stuff moving up. In which case plankton will grow, consume the oxygen and kill everything in sight.

Getting these answers will not be easy because of the “humans did it” mentality that supposed scientists seem to have these days.

That’s how I see it.

A Little Research

So you see an airplane and wonder, who owns the thing? Well if it has a United States of America N number go here http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_inquiry.asp, enter the number and viola! Loads of information. This also works for airplanes that need a little work and are parked in the weeds.

On the morbid side when airplanes go down and their accident information is made public this place has load of information. http://www.planecrashinfo.com/ but be aware that thy have the cockpit and tower trans scripts and reading through this stuff can be hard to take.

Also notice that you are safer in an airplane than a car and more so if you are traveling less than 5 miles from home.

Coming Out of a Fog

I feel like I am coming out of a fog. Since the 9/11 attack airport security is supposed to be better, more complete and accurate. Then word comes of a "possible" attack with liquid explosives. Code RED and near panic.

I thought that the airport screening was already supposed to be doing this. What did I miss other than the retail upswing when everyone has to re-purchase the items that they have to throw away?

No wonder that large business are turning in increasing numbers to charter jets for company transportation. At least one knows it is safe.

True Water Taxi

Take a gander at this http://www.beriev-usa.com/main/index.html and marvel at the simplicity of it all. Just think landing on water without floats and with wet wings. Stable but just one question. Will there be enough gas to make it run?

Ever want to translate a phrase into a different language? Look at this http://babelfish.altavista.com/ and note that not all languages are covered but a lot are and it can be a load of fun. You can also translate entire web pages. Beware that on a dial up connection this can take a bit.

Surprise Surprise – NOT

When looking at how governments are run in both Washington and Oregon it can look strange that anything gets done at all. Problem is, and I used to do this, criticism is most often levied by them what have no idea. They have no idea what the state constitution requires of local leadership, they have no real idea of what the US constitution is all about. They have no idea what the amount of time required to do the job actually is and they make comments based on what the think they know. In other countries we call this ignorance, in the US A we call it criticism.

I served on the town council, Town of Friday Harbor in Washington state for 8 years and I spent at least 25 hours a week staying up with the job. So if this is a legislative position why would it take so much time. This is because while the council is a legislative position there is more to the job than meets the eye. The council is the legislative body, they make the rules, and they also enable the land use regulations. This takes a public hearing and requires that they function in a quasi judicial manor. So things like traffic flow, water regulating, wet land protection, building codes, road speed limits, tax levies and so on are legislative. While at the same time they require a cretin amount of quasi judicial functionality. More so if the rules are appealed by the public or a business that odes not like the rules.

They also serve in a small capacity as administrators. While the Town has a very capable Administrator in Mr. King Fitch, the council is responsible for paying the bills. Paying bills is both an administrative function and a legislative one all at the same time. The council also receives reports from the different department heads, asks them for additional information from time to time and occasionally requests that they make special presentations. Presentations are an administrative function.

Keeping up with the rules, weather or not they need changed or added to, what other communities do to solve the same sort of issues. Are not quasi judicial, legislative or administrative. They are research things and can consume a lot of time. More so if one’s trying to head the State legislature off at the pass with what will prove to be BAD legislation AKA the GMA.

So when a bunch of idealists decided to get San Juan County to have an administrator strong council kind of government. They went on record as desiring the county government to be more like the town. These are nice intending people, some I even count as friends. However they didn’t do their research very well. How do I know? Because they are now complaining that the current 6 people aren’t behaving like the new charter says that they should.
So who of the freeholders asked any of the past council members what the job really requires? Who inquired of the State just what the County commissioners are actually responsible for? What sort of things did they do?

Obviously what they did was to envision themselves in the position and think “what would I do”. Yet none or few had ever done the j0ob at all and none did it well. The requirement for county-governing bodies to pass legislation is in the constitution and is not abated by a charter. Same thing for things like land use appeals. The county does have an appellate board but if that persons decision is applied to “Caesar” then the county council must step up tp the plate via quasi judicial. Or the county gets sued and it is not the appellate board that gets sued but he council members.

So without having done the job a few got the many to buy into a bad idea in the first place. Trading an open government where all decisions at the top level were done in public for a process where al decisions are now made in private. Then passed off in public as “open” even though the decision has been made out of chambers.

The idea was passed, as being more “user friendly” which will not happen. Multnomah County in Oregon proves that the more council members in place the increasingly nasty and awful legislation gets passed. The idea was passed as being cheaper. That could happen but the council members, there are 6 in San Juan County, need to make 35 thousand a year and not 60 thousand a year. By paying 60 thousand a year to begin with the council will eat up 360,000 bucks a year which is less than the 480,000 bucks previously. However in three years they will take in at least what three did previously and in fore a half million bucks.

It would only be cheaper if they were paid 30 thousand a year. That is a nice good sum and on San Juan Island it is a livable wage. A person working in a grocery store for 20 years lives on that so it is doable. Not classy at the county council state meetings where Armoni suites reign but oh well. If the people of San Juan really wanted the County government to be paid something like the Town members are then 30 grand would be the figure.

Staying current with pending doom from the Feds and the state will take up 20 hours a week. Special requests that the staff cannot answer will take up an additional 5. Meetings with the other heads of departments will take about 10 hours a week if done well. With 5 hours a week in research makes a 40 hour work week.

So how did a bunch of people really think that the job would become cheaper and less intensive? This is what happens when idealism and improper thought processes size one. Problem is the people of San Juan County, like the people of Multnomah County, foot the bill and must live with the ugly consequences of a bad idea.

That’s how I see it.
